Shutter conveyor belts

Iron slat conveyor belts are used in the paper industry to transport heavy and bulky materials, such as paper bales, production waste, or paper reels.

The double wave of the belt slats overlap each other to form a stable and compact linear plane for the transport of loads. The two ends of the slats rest on the chain links to which they are attached by means of locking screws. The surface of the

slats is therefore supported by the chain links themselves without the load bearing on the screws. This ensures greater stability and reliability of the system, reducing the risk of machine downtime due to shear loads on the locking screws.

The conveyor belt motorization device consists of a self-braking motor, a reducer with torque limiter, mounted directly on the drive shaft and the transport chain. The motor unit moves the roller conveyor belt. The torque limiter placed between the motor and the gearmotor guarantees maximum safety against overloads by starting up in the event of anomalies in the transported material such as excessive loads or presses, against the side walls. The system mounts a mechanical spring device, against stretching and breaking of the chain during start-up and stop of the belt.

Slat conveyor belts

They can be customized to meet specific production needs, including size, speed and belt configuration.

Made of iron or steel to ensure the strength needed to support heavy loads, they are suitable for conveying materials continuously, reducing downtime and improving production efficiency. They are also suitable for operating in high-temperature environments, typical of some stages of paper processing. The strength of iron ensures long life and reduces the need for frequent maintenance. They can be used for a wide range of applications within the paper mill, from transporting raw materials to production waste.

The types of applications for a conveyor belt are:

Moving bales of pulp or recycled paper to processing machinery.

Moving rolls of finished paper to the storage or shipping area.

Removal and transportation of production waste to the disposal or recycling area.

For the good maintenance of Conveyor Belts it is important that there are periodic inspections to check the wear of the slats and transport chains that the moving parts are well lubricated to reduce friction and prevent deterioration and carry out regular cleaning of the belt to avoid the accumulation of materials that could compromise the operation. Slat conveyors are essential to the efficiency and productivity of paper mills. Their robustness, versatility and ability to operate in harsh environments make them an ideal choice for the transportation of heavy and bulky materials. Investing in a quality conveyor system can lead to significant improvements in material handling and overall production efficiency.
